Ava the Explorer

Ava's become very curious in these last 2 weeks, leaning over quite far when we hold/burp her to touch whatever is around. To take advantage of her curiosity, I've tried to expose her to some new things.

Our Ikea footstool doubles as a storage container where I keep all my hats, scarves, and gloves. It is also perfect for a little girl to sit in and explore different textures, colors, and tassels.

Love this picture. Think "Docta Jones, Docta Jones" from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

I've been trying to teach her new tricks with the bowl -- covering up toys and saying "where is it? there it is", putting the toy "in" and then "out", and letting her bang toys against the bowl to hear the noise. Just being silly with our new toy.

Discovering my velvet pants with her hands first, then her mouth.

Ava LOVES watching herself scoot, play with toys, and talk in the mirror. It's like a narcissist in the making.

And this is ol' A-Dogg and T-Bird (Tilly who is 2 months younger than Ava) just chillin' like 2 old ladies -- can't sit up straight, losing hair, swollen ankles. Don't they say that best friends are like sitting on a bench and not saying anything and feeling like you've just had the best conversation? Our prediction and hope is that these two girls will go on many explorations and expeditions in the days/months/years to come.
