Hospital Time!

No no no... no baby yet :)

So Thursday I was feeling fine, but all of a sudden around 3pm I began to feel feverish, chilly, and sore muscles. I jumped in the shower and realized that no matter how hot the water was, I was still feeling quite cold. I felt better after getting under the covers, but when I got up to go to the toilet, I began shivering uncontrollably. Peter went out and bought a thermometer and in the course of an hour, my temperature was at 100F (37.8C), then 101 F (38.2C). We consulted "The Pregnancy Bible" we were gifted, which said to call the doctor as the fear might be an infection and stressing the baby. So when we called the Labor Ward, they told us to come in. SO after munching on some food and deciding to leave the Hospital bag at home, we caught a cab around 6pm. My temperature at the hospital was 102F (38.6C), so they took some blood, gave me an IV (which was INCREDIBLY painful!), a dose of Tylenol/Paracetemol, ran some tests, and put on some antibiotics as a precaution. While I was a bit irritated to have gone in, it was best that we did as my fever was stressing the baby as her hart rate had jumped to 175-180 (when normal should have been 145-150). And the baby started to move around quite a bit once her heart rate dropped to normal. So I got discharged around midnight.

As painful as the IV was, it was quite great, as it did the trick. I've felt completely normal since the hospital. So, need to continue prepping for her arrival the rest of the weekend. :)
