Had another dr's appt with the Endocrynologist. He confirmed I'm able to control my sugar level and since the stats from the last scan came up normal, that they are not going to induce me on my due date. I'm actually quite excited about this as I've heard that the induction process can be painful and cause anxiety. They will induce me if I have not given birth 7-10 days after my due date, but this is common practice with all pregnancies going over. He did stress again how I am at a high risk to develop type 2 diabetes later on in life, so I need to maintain my healthy eating & exercise. They will test the baby after it is born to make sure it is fine; they will then test both me and the baby at 6 wks after birth. He recommended I get tested on a yearly basis to make sure my sugar levels arent going up.
So I've really started to slow down and waddle this last week. If I walk too much, my pelvic bone area hurts. My sitting/standing/walking are all in very slow motion. (yes, my sitting down on the toilet is not the easiest thing!) I've noticed I don't multi-task well and feel like I'm spacy in conversations. Sleeping has gotten more restless, but hasnt been as bad as my friends. I get up 1-2 times to go to the toilet. What has been hard is sleeping on my left side the whole time (to ensure the baby stays in position to exit); this has put a lot of strain on my joints/muscles on my left side. But I'm still blessed not to have any swollen ankles or water retention.
Last weekend, I FINALLY got my hospital bag together! We bought all the urgent/must have items (if she showed today) and ordered everything else on line. This weekend, I need to make a decision on purchasing a storage unit for all the supplies, as it is all sitting on the floor right now.
I meet with the midwife again next Wed and with the Endocrynologist the one after.
