We are thinking about applying for dual citizenship for her in the event she ever wants to work or study in Europe, as it will make things a bit easier for her. But that will be much further down the line.

Citizenship: American or English?
Apparently America is one of the few countries in which you are granted citizenship automatically when you are born there. In the UK, you have to be living here for 6 years or have a permanent visa status to apply for UK citizenship. So she has an English Birth Certificate and a certificate from the US Embassy acknowledging the birth on behalf of the US Government. So she is an American citizen with an American Passport. Horrible picture by the way (will post soon). It was a nightmare trying to take it because the US government requires your eyes to be open and mouth to be closed (impossible with a newborn!). She was 2 weeks old when we had the picture done and it took us almost an hour! We needed it because Peter's job is processing my & Ava's visa to stay in the UK. Also, I think our first visit to the US *might* be this Christmas if all goes according to plan.
