First Blog! oh, and possibly our first baby... :)

19 Oct 2009 -- Right, so we're in London in year 2. So much going on -- Went to India for 5 weeks, I started working at my new job, Bindu's mom came to visit, Peter's Cousin Aaron from Hawaii came to visit... and we might be having a baby. So with family in literally all parts of the world, we're going to blog it. Never thought I'd be a blogger (but never thought I'd join Facebook either, guess there's a first for everything.) Ok, to to bring everyone up to speed, here's how it happend. :)

Peter and I were in India Aug 15th - Sept 2oth traveling to see my family and to see the country. Peter and I were very blessed to have a team of people praying for us -- safe travels, our health, time with family, etc. We spent a week in Bangalore (with family), a week in Kerela, a week in the country side (with family), and a week in the North (visiting Rajestan, Agra, Simla/Himalayas, and Delhi). Seeing family, the sites, and great food was wonderful; traveling got quite tiring in the end. Well, before we left for the North, I realized that there might be a possibility that I was pregnant. But we didn't want to tell the family because 1) it might be nothing, 2) we didn't want them to stop us from going on the trip, and 3) there much we could do as far as seeing a doctor. The only thing we could do was pray and enjoy our time, which was what we did.

Well, we decided to get a pregnancy test the moment we landed in London, which came up positive that night. The internet calculator said that I might be between 5-7 weeks along. Because of my miscarriage 2 years ago, we decided not to tell anyone until it was confirmed. Well little did I know that the UK health system had other plans. It took me 2-3 weeks to get my first doctors appointment. When I finally had it, I was given a book on pregnancy and had my heartbeat and blood pressure checked. So the next week I got a letter from another affiliated hospital that has scheduled my appointment for 29 Oct mid-day; I will have a 2 hour appointment with a midwife (to discuss my family health history, make records, discuss my birth plans, etc). After that appointment, they will then book me in for a scan. Therefore, I might be out of my 1st trimester by the time I get that which means that is when most of you will find out.

So, the only people that know are our parents, sisters, Peter's grandparents, Aaron (he was here during a lot of my whining), Preethi (who was in the car with my mom in India when I told her), Gola (mom cant keep any secrets from her), and Heidi/Dips (whom I needed to consult to understand the UK healthcare system which still makes no sense to me). Been wanting to tell so many of you -- so you could pray for me or understand why I've been mysteriously tired/busy/forgetful. Hoping you guys are all understanding of our situation.

Praise God- I felt fine until I came back from India. I haven't had morning sickness, but I've felt quite bad in the evening time. I'd feel really hungry but have no appetite to eat. Everything smells which makes me feel yuck. And I've been VERY cranky. (I'm discovering I have a very loving husband). Between my 20-40 min commute to work by foot &/or bus and a long day at work, I'm completely exhausted when I come home. All I've been wanting to do is sleep.

So that's the update in a nutshell. :) Will write more later.
