- Yes:sounds like "Yeah-SSSS". She says this very slowly to make sure we understand that she is saying yes. Typically meaning 'yes she wants something'.
- No: usually said "no-no-no-no" very fast. We try to say "no" as little as possible, so we typically say "don't do that" or "you can't have that right now" because we dont want her to make this a primary word in her vocabulary. Ava very often knows she does not want something or does not agree with what we are saying so we dont want to add 'no' to this.
-Mom: usually pronounced "ma-ma", "me-me", or "ma-meeee". When she first started grunting/fussing/screaming, we use to tell her "Ava, we dont respond to screaming, if you want something ask nicely or say 'mommy/daddy' ", which she quickly adapted to. Except I think now her saying "ma-mee" is her way of saying "Please can I have this", because she will say "ma-mee" when she wants something and Peter is asking her to say 'dad'. This is probably her most said word right now, probably because she is staying home with me.
-Dad: said "da-da" or "da-deeee".
-Done: pronounced "duh" and usually said when she is done with a meal or toy.
-Hi: often first only a wave and if she warms up she will say it. Although today she told everyone "hi" that she passed while out shopping at Wal-Mart.
-Bye: often said with excitement/loud and a wave.
-Bow-Bow: said when asked what sound a dog makes
-Baby: said "bay-bee". I dont think she knows what this means yet, but it is the one thing she repeats when I say it.
-Home: pronounced "ho" and said when we pull into the apartment complex or driveway
-Go: often said when getting ready to pull out
-Car: said "ca" when we are getting ready to go
She really does understand so much now. She puts her toys up without a fuss, puts her shoes in the closet, puts things in the back of the shopping cart when she is done looking at it, etc. She is so excited about the bath. It really is a lot of fun
