Move to America

So Peter got a job with a company called Accuride in Evansville, Indiana. He'll be doing a rotaional/leadership type role working directly with management as they work to grow the company and make it more efficient. As far as location, we are really excited to be closer to our parents, having a bit more room for Ava to run around, and spending more time with Peter than Banking allowed.

We really felt like this was a direct answer to prayer and that God's hand has been in this. Nothing happens this fast and this miraculously unless it is by Him, especially over this distance and in this job market. There was never a job that existed, Peter never applied for anything, and there was no formal interview conducted. Below is the timeline of what happened; glory to the Lord, for He is Good. :)

Feb/March: Peter starts thinking about applying for jobs in the US. We start praying with thanksgiving and submission to God's plan & purpose in the next stage of our lives, whenever and wherever that may be.

April

Early in Month: Peter gets connected with a West point headhunter about a c-level job; Peter talks to him about how he is not qualified, but would like to move back to the US. He agrees to put Peter in touch with another West Point alum who has just moved into a management role at Accuride

22: we fly to US for 2 week trip (for Ava's 1st Birthday!)

27: Peter has call with Accuride CEO, and also West Point alum

May

3: Accuride flies Peter out for an interview

6: We fly back to London

10: Peter talks to headhunter who says an offer may not come till Mid-summer

13: Because nothing is impossible with God, Peter miraculously gets an offer letter, agreeing to pay for our move back to the US.

16: Peter accepts offer and puts in resignation at UBS

20: Peter's last day at UBS

June

2: Finally hear from relocation company

7: Confirmation of move date from relocation company and flights to US are booked

13: movers come for London things

15: we fly from London to DC

18: movers come for DC things

20- 21: Fly to Evansville to find a place to live (without Ava)

25: Fly from DC to Atlanta

July

10: Peter drives from Atlanta to Evansville

11: Peter starts work; Bindu & Ava stay in Georgia

15: Bindu, Ava, and Bindu's mom drive to Evansville to move into apartment. Bindu's mom will be helping to watch Ava as we settle in & unpack

End of July: Bindu's mom flies back to Georgia
