Great news-- we are moved into our new place! Well, we are here but still trying to get settled in. We moved on 10 March. The day was a bit hectic -- packing (which we started the night before!), juggling a Dr's appt that morning, needing to rent a van with Peter's friend driving it, and cleaning the old place at 10pm. Though I didnt do any lifting, all the activity wore me out. Peter and I spent the next 3 days recovering. Since then, we've decked out the place in all the wonders Ikea has to offer (figured it would be easier for me to give away if/when we move). As expected, Peter unpacked in a half day and I still have a ways to go. We got a great deal on cable/phone/internet. The great news is our cable was up the day after the move; down side is that it will still be another 2 weeks for phone and 3 wks for internet. We'll probably focus on getting ready for the baby these next few weeks.
Our place is a 2 bedroom & 1.5 bath place on the main floor of what they call a period style conversion (looks like a townhouse where they split the floors into different residences). So no stairs except the first 5 outside to get into the house. We have a dishwasher and washer/dryer combo (that we are struggling to figure out how to operate!). Its fairly close to everything -- the tube, buses, church, friends, restaurants, grocery store, etc. Will try to upload pictures of the new place soon.
Lastly, some girls at work threw me a surprise baby shower. I knew I enjoyed the company, what I was doing, and the people I worked with.... but the fact that several girls were willing to give up their sunday afternoon to eat veggie sandwiches (no sweets bc of my diabetes) and shower me with gifts really meant a lot to me.
