So in week 20/21, my belly REALLY came out though not huge (I might be in denial though). It was nice to be back in the US for the first time in 1.5 yrs. I was really blessed that the flight went well. It was interesting to see all the small babies in the airports; airport security will take on a whole new experience going forward (mind you my sister the consultant did say that they always look to avoid the lines with the kids in it as they fly about earning their sky miles. They should just open a line up for all the people with babies). I was excited to shop although it was challenging because I knew i couldnt return anything and I had no idea how big I would get. Hit the jackpot at target and Gap Maternity. Best invention ever has to be the BeeBand (thanks Jamie!); wonder how long I can get away with that. At week 22, I officially felt the baby kick in that bubbly feeling everyone describes and it is VERY cool. Lucky for Peter, he was able to put his hand on my tummy and feel it too. The baby moves about quite often now; we can even see my stomach jiggle around. I've been so blessed to still have energy and feel ok. Been trying to integrate short walks in my commute to work. I figured as long as I have the energy, a brisk 12 min walk will do me good. I'm finding that I cant eat big meals, as there is no room and it needs to digest. Still no cravings for specific foods. One thing weird is that I'll be sitting at my desk at work and feel very winded, as if I've run a race.
So we're having a baby girl on May 8th. Not sure if it is seeing it for the 2nd time or knowing it is a girl, but it really seems so real now. We've started to think about names. Peter threw out Shamiqua, Lashonda, and Jazel (sometimes he is too much). I think we'll probably keep that a surprise until she is here. :) So names, strollers, baby stuff... looks like we need to start preparing!
